When struck by a debilitating disease like arthritis it is easy to begin to lose hope. The future is days of pain and stiffness. You may even feel as if your body is working against you. The truth is, your body works constantly to try to get you back on track. With a little help by supplying what the body needs, it has the ability to repair damage that has already been done.

Be Proactive

This means we need to take an active role in our recovery. The first step in any good plan to achieve better health is to become aware of the issues you suffer with and find people that can help you on your journey to better health. There are many health care practitioners that can offer help for your situation. Become familiar with the resources that are available to you, make a plan, and move forward.

Understand Your Needs

There are two main areas that enhance your body's ability to repair itself that you have ultimate control over: nutrition and exercise. A nutritionist and physical therapist can get you started in the right direction, but it is ultimately your responsibility to carry out a successful diet plan and exercise regimen.

The Importance of Nutrition

Supplying the right amount of nutrients to provide your body with the tools needed to stay healthy does not need to be rocket science. Eating an abundance of low process, whole foods is an important foundation to any healthy lifestyle plan. Supplementing the typical American diet is important to meet the nutrient needs not met when our diet is less than idea. A high quality mulitvitamin can help us meet the need we have for many beneficial nutrients.

Forgotten Boron

One nutrient that may be missing or in very low doses in your muiltivitamin is boron. Boron and FruiteX-B, a nature identical form or boron, have been shown to have benefits for those suffering with arthritis. It would take 80 of one of the best selling multivitamins to get the amount of boron found in the arthritis studies. Boron is the most commonly-deficient nutrient in American soils. Getting suboptimal amounts of this nutrient may have negative effects on the joints, bones, and vitamin D status.

Get Up And Move

Being more active is something I believe most of us desire. Our days are full of activities that keep us going, but don't necessarily help us use all of our muscles, increase strength, or get our hearts beating. Finding ways to incorporate regular exercise that does not over work our joints is an important part of the recovery process. Work with your doctor or physical therapist in designing a plan that will work to give you maximum benefits without abusing your joints.

The Benefits of Exercise

Exercise can help increase our energy levels, increase joint mobility, increase strength and stability. It can also decrease risk of many of diseases that we face like heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. It can also increase brain function and mood. Exercise can also affect one more area that can have substantial impact on weight bearing joints: weight loss. Maintaining proper weight in America has become an increasing difficult challenge. Exercise can play a vital role in long term weight management.

Life Doesn't Need to Slow Down

Being proactive about our health can be empowering and also increase our chance of success. Joint issues will not always go away on their own, and can progressively become worse as time goes on. The sooner we take action, the more likely we are to have success when facing any health challenge. Find your health team, make a plan, and get started. Long term success is within your reach.
